Porvoo, the Memphis of Finland 08 Oct 2007 posted by Ville Porvoo is situated right next to the Mississippi river of Finland. It is a nice small city. I went there to the grand opening of Terminaali. Terminaali is a place where youth can spend some time skateboarding, playing Xbox 360 and just hanging around! The opening was great! There were professional skateboarders showing tricks and kids were stunned by them. There is also a shop in Terminaali which sells all the top brand clothing and equipment on the market today. CTRL, Volcom, Nikita, Electric, Lakai, DC shoes and Outo! There are Outo beanies and t-shirts for sale. Terminaali arranges also a lot of happenings during the year. For example I m going to come to Porvoo and teach YOU how to crochet. I ll inform about that later on. So if you are in Porvoo, head to the WSOY building in the city center. Specially you skateboarders, it really is worth checking out! Even I got the spark to start skateboarding again. Check out www.terminaali.info Starring the HAT! 27 Sep 2007 posted by Ville  The hat exhibiton I mentioned earlier on in this blog was opened on 25.9.2007. I was in the opening ceremony and the Weegee House was fully packed! There must have been over 200 people. Opening speech was impressive and the exhibition was even more impressive! I had no idea that there has been so many different designs and purposes for a hat. Outo was represented in the exhibition and was a good contrast which seemed to interest people. I got good feedback and so did the staff at Espoo City Museum. Check the exhibition out in Tapiola Espoo, in Weegee House. It will be open for public untill 24.2.2008! Thank you Minna, brilliant job! Sdumt! 19 Sep 2007 posted by Ville  Today I was in the publishing event of Kati Hienonen's book called Suomalaisen Designin Uudet Mielentilat (The New Mind Sets Of Finnish Design) and it was truly a brilliant event. Kati was very happy about the book and so was I. In the book Outo is considered as a young trend setter. How cool is that! The book is published by Otava and it should be already available all around Finland. Kati also has a webpage in which you can put your own designs and then get some feedback. Headwear is not always for covering your head because of cold wind or burning sun. In the past it may have told your status in the society, crowns for example. It may have told where you are from and so on. Numerous reasons why wear something on your head. The Espoo City Museum is opening an exhibition of headwear in 25.9.2007 and it will be open until 24.2.2008. What makes this so special for me is that Outo is represented in this exhibition! Besides Outo beanies there will be hundreds of other kind of headwear, pictures of headwear and a lot of other stuff too.
